What is this book about?
The About section covers the main idea behind the book.
I don’t really get how the publishing system is going to work. Can you clarify?
To put it simply, the book(s) will always be distributed in two formats, pdf online and printed form. The former will be free (with certain restrictions), while the latter will be purcheasable like a normal book.
You mention a special license called Creative Commons. What is it?
It’s a license that permits the free distribution of works like poetry, novels, music… The novels use the most restrictive one, Non Commercial, Attribution-No Derivs.
Practically speaking, what does that mean?
It means that the online version can be freely distributed, as long as it’s not modified, not used for commercial purposes and that the authors are properly credited. Any of these limitations can be waived by the original authors.
How long has this series been in production?
The first idea for the book came in 1997.
Why so much time?
The authors do this as a side-project, and often work and other commitments can get in the way.
When the books will be ready?
Book 1 (Lost Innocence) is now complete, and available through Lulu.com. Work on the second book has started already, but there aren’t any dates yet.
What are “snapshots”?
Snapshots are periodical releases of the books as they are being written. They are meant to show the progression of the work and also to ask for comments and suggestions.
How frequent are snapshots?
It really depends on how fast the progression is. The least you can expect is one per month, though there may be more.
Where can I buy your book(s)?
At the moment, you can’t find the books in regular bookstores (though this may change in the future). For now all books will be only available through the print-on-demand provider called Lulu.com. That means that you can only order through them. Once you place your orders, your book will be printed (that is why it’s called a print-on-demand service) and shipped to you. You can also access the online store by the relevant link at the top of the page.
